Ethiopia to procure 70,000 mt of wheat for drought

As part of its ongoing support for Productive Safety Net Program IV, the World Bank is financing the procurement of 70,000 metric tons of wheat at an estimated cost of USD 31.5 million contributing to the mitigation of drought conditions and risk of food shortage in different parts of country, The Reporter has learnt.

Gov't to cut cost across all agencies

Ministry of Finance & Economic Cooperation (MoFEC) ordered federal budgetary institutions to submit their budget reduction action plans by the early weeks of September 2017, following the issuance of a new directive which orders federal agencies to cut all unnecessary expenses.

“So far none of the offices have submitted their action plan,” said Haji Ibbsa, communication director of the Ministry.

Ethiopia secures land for port facility in Sudan
